Every Breath You Take

Hey everybody!

The highlight of today's post is definitely my rocking new tee featuring The Police! I'm a fan of their music, they're one of my favorite new wave groups. Thus, when I spotted this gem at Forever 21, I instantly had to have it! I played up the red accent in the shirt by throwing on some red shorts and a headband to match. I kept all other accessories rather neutral.

I hope you enjoyed!

Apple Crisp in a Jar

Hi everybody!

I'm very excited for my first culinary blog post! I recently came across an amazing recipe for apple crisp. It's delicious, doesn't require very many ingredients, and can be done in a microwave!

To start off, you'll need one peeled apple, as shown.

You'll also need the following ingredients, along with a jar (not shown)

The exact measurements are as follows (makes one serving)
For the apple filling:
1 apple, peeled and diced
1 tablespoon of white granulated sugar mixed with a dash of cinnamon

For the crisp:
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon flour
2 tablespoons instant oatmeal
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar (I used powdered instead, because I don't have brown)

Dice your apple into small chunks.

Throw your diced apple into your jar along with the tablespoon of cinnamon sugar mix.

Heat up the ingredients for the crisp in a microwave on high for twenty seconds. Then mix until the ingredients are evenly distributed. The consistency should be rather thick, and not runny.

Place the crisp mixture on top of the apples, and press down gently to smooth out the surface. Place your jar in the microwave and heat on high for 1-2 minutes. Keep an eye on the jar, and take it out if it starts to bubble. Also, be extremely careful because the jar will get very hot.

Done! You've successfully created a miniature apple crisp in a jar! Yum! The best part about creating a mini dessert in a jar is that you can throw on the lid for a treat on-the-go.

I hope you enjoyed the recipe! I'm looking forward to other quick and easy desserts. Until next time,

Denim in Distress

Hey everybody!

Today's outfit is casual, for a day to the mall or out for some frozen yogurt. I've finally embraced the chambray button up shirt trend, and I understand the hype. They're so comfortable! I want more in different colors! I was hesitant to add jeans into the mix, since there's already a denim print in the shirt. I opted for a cheetah-print pair of pants and earth-toned accessories. I absolutely adore the faux-leather messenger bag, because it's structured and has pockets on the front for my cell phone.

Hope you enjoyed!

Violets are Blue

Hey everybody!

Today's outfit makes use of the lovely spring weather. I have been pleasantly surprised by the current temperatures in Dubai. We have not hit triple digits just yet! That said, the temperature is still quite warm and a fun, airy dress helps keep cool. I particularly like this dress because of the jingly metallic detailing near the collar and on the waist. Since the top portion is a lovely puce color, I added on accessories in the same purple family.

Hope you enjoyed!
