New Hair + Blogtober!

Hi everybody!

Today we're kicking off the third year of Blogtober! This is technically my fourth year doing this, as the first year was on a previous blog, and I've always looked forward to doing it. Essentially, I'll have a new post up every day for the month of October. It's a really fun challenge for me, and it pushes me to be a bit more creative with my content. I'm really looking forward to it!

Also, I cut my hair. I've been a bit more daring with my hair in the past few years. I realized that, hey, it actually grows back! So last summer, I chopped off over a foot and donated it. I loved the change. The summer before that, I tried my hand at cutting my own hair, and I chopped in some bangs. I also really loved that as well. So, I started cutting my hair some more. A few weeks ago, I snipped off a few inches, and today, I cut my bangs back in. I'm really digging the combo of shorter hair, and bangs. I'd forgotten just how much cuter ponytails and other hairstyles are with a fringe!

DIY Sea Salt Spray

Hi everybody!

One of my favorite hair products is sea salt spray. It adds texture and volume, for effortlessly beautiful hair. However, it can be pretty expensive, with even drugstore brands charging $10 for a small bottle. Here is a recipe to make it yourself at home, for a fraction of the cost!

You'll need:
an 8 fl oz bottle
2 tbsp of kosher sea salt
1 tsp of hair conditioner
1 tsp of hair gel
1 tsp coconut spray (optional)

Add the ingredients to your bottle, and add warm water until full. Then, shake and apply to your hair after a shower.

I like to use the hair to add texture to my heatless headband curls. It's my favorite method of getting curly hair, and I've even made a tutorial for that, as well.

I hope you enjoyed!

Blushing Chiffon Dress

Hello everybody!

This is what I wore this Valentine's day. I'm in love with the dress! It's a lovely dusty rose color, and fits me very well. Normally, I'm reluctant to shop online, but I couldn't pass this dress up. I'm even considering more in different colors! The great thing about a nice dress is that other accessories aren't needed. I kept mine to a minimum, with earthy tones to complement the warm salmon color.

I'm not only in love with the dress, but also with my backdrop! These fountains are in my neighborhood. I noticed while on a run the other day that the shrubs had been trimmed, bright flowers replanted, and I knew I had to take pictures out here! The weather has also been very nice, and I now look forward to my runs around the scenic community. I also want to stop by here to read. I just finished The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, which I highly recommend! It's an amazing read, and I look forward to reading other books by this author.

I hope you enjoyed!

Christmas 2012

Hey everybody!

I've had a lovely day with my family opening presents, eating food, and enjoying each others' company. It's really fun seeing cousins and other relatives after being away for most of the year. One of my family traditions is to open presents at midnight, and Christmas Eve is just as important as Christmas Day. The downtown area is all lit up this time of year, so I took some pictures by the lovely lights.

Obviously, I'm very rebellious in nature.

I hope you all have had an amazing Christmas (or Hanukkah or Kwanzaa or Boxing Day Eve)!
Love you all!

Denim Diva

Hey everybody! The focal point of today's outfit is the denim dress. I really like the three-quarter length sleeves, and the hem hits right above the knee, which is the most flattering spot. I also enjoy the texture and feel of the material. It's denim without being tacky or dated. I'm not a huge fan of the silhouette, it goes straight up and down. So I added a bright red belt to cinch in the waist, and added crimson accessories to match.

I hope you enjoyed! Until next time,

Neon Salmon Pants

Hey everybody! Today's outfit is something I'd wear if I were feeling more formal. The button down satin black shirts gives a polished vibe. I really like the gold accent on the collar. The black bag and shoes add to the uniformity. The neon pink pants are tailored and nice (they're not jeans!) but show off a lot of personality. They're a shockingly bright salmon color, almost impossible to look away from!

Hearts on Fire

Hey everybody! The focal point of today's outfit is the heart sweater. It's so comfy and adorable, I can't get enough of it! I added on some navy blue loafers to compliment the heart. Then I threw on a pair of bright red pants. Color blocking has been on trend lately, and one of my favorites fads! Then, to add some polish I finished off the look with a tweed jacket.

I hope you enjoyed! Until next time,

Fuchsia Fusion

Hey everybody! Today's outfit is fun, and a bit more formal than I usually wear. The obvious star of the  look is this neon fuchsia button down! It's practically impossible to look away from! Since I didn't want to detract from the fabulous color, I kept everything else simple with black accessories.

I hope you enjoyed!

Navy Polka Dots

Hey everybody! The star of today's post is this adorable navy blue button down shirt. It's a lovely fit, and has polka dots! I added on an indigo clutch to complement the cool tones. I also threw on a pair of old gray jeans that I haven't worn in years. I can't for the life of me, remember why I stuck them in the back of my closet! To complete the outfit, I stuck on a pair of mid-toned gray oxfords.

I hope you enjoyed!

Ride On

Hey everybody! Today's outfit is very casual and laid-back. It features a comfy, printed sweater accented by warm accessories. I especially adore the cute bicycle design on the front of the sweater. I threw on my pair of boyfriend-fit jeans, which are my most comfortable pair to date, to complete the look.

I hope you enjoyed!
